Dr. Jessica Fay - Oak City Chiropractic

Dr. Jessica Fay

DC, ART®

Dr. Jessica Fay, DC grew up just outside of Boston, Massachusetts and has been under regular chiropractic care since she was a child.

After starting pre-medical coursework at Emory University in Atlanta, she had a snowboarding accident her freshman year, fracturing both arms and her tailbone. For several months after the accident she had a loss of grip strength and pain that wasn’t improving after casting and rehabilitation. After visiting a chiropractor for an unrelated complaint, she noticed both her hand weakness and pain disappeared after the adjustment. This sparked a curiosity in learning more about the structure of the body and how the biomechanics of the spine and extremities can directly influence the way that the body functions.

After graduating from Emory she went on to attend Life University in Marietta, GA. While in school she interned in the pregnancy and pediatric unit of the Center for Health and Optimum Performance and also completed an externship in a family/sports private clinic in Alpharetta, GA. She graduated with honors in 2008 and opened her practice in Raleigh, NC a few months later.

In addition to traditional chiropractic treatment, Dr. Fay is a certified Elite Provider in the Active Release Technique®, which is a very specific treatment protocol for muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerve entrapments. Her initial examination looks at how a patient is functioning biomechanically and where any structural imbalances are. Treatment focuses on correcting those imbalances through specific adjustments to the joints as well as stretching and release of the corresponding soft tissue. For patients that are uncomfortable with the traditional “twisting and popping” chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Fay also has extensive training in gentle low-force instrument adjusting (Activator Methods).

In her free time, Dr. Fay loves to compete in triathlons and can be found running, cycling, or swimming. She is active in the local business community and is a member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce as well as the advisory board for the Wake County Chiropractic Society. She was also selected to be the official Treatment Team Leader for Ironman Raleigh and Ironman North Carolina from 2013 – 2016.  More recently, she was featured in the episode “React” in the Netflix series, “Human: The World Within.”
